Today in Kindergarten we read our favorite story. We are getting a wide variety of books and many of them we never heard before! If you have forgotten your child’s date please let their teacher know and they will be able to remind you of it.
PM Kinders on Friday On the top right side of this page you will see a new heading that says home reading. We are trying to offer a variety of activities that will help your child with letter recognition, letter sounds and as well as beginning reading skills. If you click on the words you will be taken to a page that will have a nursery rhyme with some activities for you to do with your child. Please do not feel that this is a requirement, it an optional activity for you to do. This page will be updated weekly. If you have received a green letter ring for your child please remember to return it on a regular basis so that it can be updated for your child. **Please remember to send back the white envelopes that report cards came home in. Enjoy your evening, The Kinder Team

Today in Kindergarten most of the classes talked about the letter Pp. We made lists of words that start with Pp and one of the lists had more than 17 words and pictures on it! Some animals start with P, like pig, peacock and penguin. In the afternoon Mrs. Ahn came in a read us a story that she helped a grade one class to write. It was full of penguin facts!

Stay warm, The K Team Today in Kindergarten most of the classes read another favorite book. On days where a favorite book has been forgotten each class does their own thing. In Mrs. Decottignies pm class we talked about the number 1 and how many different ways we could show it. In Mrs. Taylors class they wrote a journal entry about what they like to do in the snow.

Another short blog today. We are getting back into the swing of things here. Today we worked on the letter Oo (Mrs. Bridle’s class did Nn). We made a list of all the words we can think of that started with O and we came up with some great ideas. You will have to ask me about them! In the afternoon we worked in our letter groups again. They are really enjoying mixing up their classes. Please remember to send back the white envelopes that report cards came home in. Enjoy your evening, The Kindergarten Team It is a short one today!
The morning group read their favorite story and then headed off to gym-sic where they learned the polka! In the afternoon we started out with our favorite book and then went to gym to practice our ball skills. Please remember to send back the white envelopes that report cards came home in. It will be AM kinders on Friday. Enjoy your evening, The Kindergarten Team Welcome back! We hope that you enjoyed your winter break!
Today we began the New Year a little differently than usual but all of the children adjusted well to the changes. The many of the classes did a journal entry about what they did on their break. It was interesting to see them pick up where they have left off with their writing. We also worked on out letter N. In the afternoon we began letter groups. Each group worked on different letter activities. It was a lot of fun. The morning groups will be beginning this soon. Please remember to send back the white envelopes that report cards came home in. It will be AM kinders on Friday. Enjoy your evening, The Kindergarten Team |
