Many of the classes worked on their chicken coops. (Mrs. Bridle’s class worked on their journals) They are almost done and we have had to do a lot of thinking in order to do a good job.
BIG NEWS!!! We have three chicks that have made holes in their eggs! There are two cameras set up to take pictures throughout the night so if one makes it out we will be able to watch it! Stay tuned. Today we had our second opportunity to join Sound Kreations for a dance residency. The Kindergarten classes will have the chance to show you what they have learned in two special assemblies. The afternoon group will share March 16th at 2:15, please arrive by 2:05. (This is a time change)The morning group will share with the rest of the classes March 17th at 10:00, please arrive by 9:55. We are looking forward to sharing with you. Some information about the upcoming conferences on March 23rd: These conferences will be student led, which means your child will be the teacher for your visit. Your child will be showing you their work and describing some of their centres. It will be a mini version of a Kindergarten day. There will be four families booked in each time slot and you will have the opportunity to speak to your childs’ teacher if you choose to. Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that with her own kids and learned that the average kid spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. She wondered about the impact of all this time and about the friction occurring in homes and schools around negotiating screen time—friction she knew all too well. Once they know all the letters and sounds please send the ring back so that we can give them new letters to learn. We are starting a new project this week and we need your help again! We are looking for some materials to build something (we can’t tell you what yet!). We would appreciate it if you had any of the following that you could send in with your child tomorrow:

Today each of the classes did their own thing. Ask your child just what they did. We have been watching the eggs carefully and visited the school over the weekend to keep our eye on them. No luck! It should be anytime now though!

Enjoy your night! The Kinder Team J AM KINDERGARTEN TOMORROW!
Kindergarten today we all had different experiences. Some of us wrote in our journals and another class worked on family maps. We had an exciting experience this afternoon! (morning group will do this tomorrow) At the end of the we had a look at the eggs to see how the chicks were doing and we could see them moving! We almost have them all! For part of our project we have asked that you send in pictures of your family and the meaning of your child’s name. Many of you already had done this, thank you. If you have not sent in your family picture or what your child’s name means please send it in as soon as you can. Feel free to email pictures but it is easiest if you send them as an attachment. Jennifer Bridle [email protected] Pamela Osadec [email protected] Suzanne Smith [email protected] Kaylyn Taylor [email protected] Lise Decottignies [email protected] Some students had an interest in reading online stories at home. Here is a kid-safe website that has a couple pages of great stories for you and your child to watch – some of you might even own the hard copy of the book! http://www.barnesandnoble.com/nook-blog/category/online-storytime/ Enjoy your night! The Kinder Team J All of the Kindergarten classes are working on the same big project but we are all doing the activities in different ways. The project is about what makes us each unique. If you ask us about what we did in class today I should be able to tell you. If I don’t remember maybe ask what was your job today?

You will enjoy seeing them when you come to student led conferences at the end of March.
The classes visited the library today and Mrs. Schuman read us a story called “Up above and Down below”. We have had so many responses to our picture and names request! Thank you. Other classes did the same thing a little differently. Mrs. Osadec’s class talked about big and little problems.
The afternoon group had gym-sic. Have you checked your e-mail? We sent out an e-mail today to remind you of some little task we need your help with.
