Today we talked about the letter Mm. There are a lot of things that start with M! Our list was long.
Tomorrow is the last day of classes before the winter break and it is pajama day! You are welcome to join us for carol singing at 10:30 in the gym. Classes resume on January 3rd. Thank you so much for your support at the Grade 1 Used Toy and Book Sale this year. We were able to raise $1099 thanks to you!!! That means we were able to but new items to fill 40 backpacks with toys, books, toiletries, etc. for children that are living on the street here in Calgary. For more information on an amazing local organization, please check out Stephen's Backpack Society at http://www.stephensbackpacks.com/ Thanks... Grade 1 Team Tomorrow will also be Miss Moore’s last day with Mrs. Decottignies class until February. She has done so much work with us and even helped us make the Christmas cards that have come home with the special handmade gifts. Have a wonderful holiday The Kindergarten team

Today was letter Ll. I wonder how many things I can name for you that start with Ll.
We have had some question about the morning Kindergarten classes missing pajama day on Friday. Their pajama day will be on morning of Thursday the 15th. The afternoon children will wear their p.j.’s on the Friday morning. The morning children are welcome to join us with an adult for the caroling Friday. The cold weather has come! Please practice doing up zippers, putting on mitts and snow pants. We are trying to get everyone out quickly when the bell goes so that you are not waiting out in the cold! Here is a song that some of the classes sing: To the tune of the song Head and Shoulders: Snow pants Jacket Hat and boots Hat and boots Hat and boots Snowpants Jacket Hat and boots Then last is your mittens Next week: Carol singing on Friday and you are welcome to join us. Pajama day on Friday Have a good night The Kindergarten team The afternoon group had a fire drill at the end of the day. We were aware of it so all of the children weredressed in their winter gear and ready to go outside.
Today in Kindergarten we read a favorite story. We are becoming very good choosing our favorite part. Often times it is a hard job to just choose one part! Tomorrow is letter Ll. Pajama day on Friday Stay Warm The Kinder team Today in Kindergarten the classes talked about letter K. Some of the words we thought of were:
Koala Kangaroo key king kitchen Kiss kite Kleenex We understand that it is very cold outside now and that some families have younger children in the car. Unfortunately drop offs and dismissals through the office are not allowed as it becomes very disruptive and busy for the office staff. In the past some parents have made arrangements for one parent to pick up a group of children from the compound door. Please just drop a quick email to the teacher or a note in their communication bag. The cold weather has come! Please practice doing up zippers, putting on mitts and snow pants.
