PM KINDERS TOMORROW
Today in Kindergarten the morning group started their day with Gym-sic. Then we looked at our new calendar for March. We will be writing numerals in a new way and have been given a challenge to see if we can figure out what the number 5 will look like. We know that it will have 5 angles. This afternoon we continues to work on our fairy tales. Mrs. Decottignies class worked in small groups and performed plays to each other. Mrs. Yacyshyn's class had a challenge to build a chair. Mrs. Smith's class went to the learning commons to look at the big white screen and the light projector for a project they will be doing. In the afternoon all three classes got together to talk about the calendar too and they have the same challenge as the morning group. We hae opened an experimental garden! In it we will be planting some seeds that the students bring from home or just trying to grow things that may not be seeds (but did come from seeds) We will update you with the ideas that come in and if you would like to send things in please feel free. Have a good night The Kindergarten team

This morning Mrs. Bridle's class read Koala Lou by Mem Fox. Did you know that Mem Fox is from Australia? We learned about Australian animals as well as the sound that K makes. It is very confusing knowing whether to use a K or a C in words since they both make the same sound! We learned how to draw a koala in our visual journals. Ask your child what Koala Lou's mum always said to her!
Mrs. Decottignies' class had a student bring in their favourite book and everyone got to draw and write about their favourite part. Mrs. Osadec's class did a Math activity. Ask your child what they did. The afternoon classes continued their study of fairy tales! Mrs. Decottignies' and Mrs. Yacyshyn's classes did a sequencing activity with their fairy tales. Ask your child what fairytale they read and what it was about. Mrs. Smith's class also read and then acted out their fairytale. Have your child show you how they acted it out! Popcorn orders are due this Friday, March 4th....please submit them soon if you would like to order and if you have misplaced your form you can ask your teacher for another to be sent home. Have a great evening :) The K Team In the morning classes Mrs. Bridle's class read a story called Grandfather Tang' Story. Grand Father Tang tells his Grandaughter a story and makes the characters with tangrams. We learned that tangrams are a type of puzzle from China and that there are seven shapes or tans in each set. They can be assembled to make pictures to go along with a story. Then the children got to make something from their own imagination out of tangrams too.
Mrs. Osadec and Mrs. Decottignies's classes worked on the letter Uu. We made a jellyfish and other UNDERWATER creatures. They were neat! In the afternoon we had gymsic and then continued to work on the story we read yesterday. Some of us started some puppets! Popcorn notes went home last week. Please send them back as soon as possible. If you have misplaced your let us know and we can send out another one.
