TOMORROW IS PICTURE DAY! Bring your smiles
In the big room today we talked about the letter Aa and did some work in our sketch books. We wrote the letter, made an A with aluminum foil, and drew some things that started with an Aa. When we were done that job we solved a mystery! The teacher's read a story called "The Little house with no windows or doors that has a start inside". If you want to see if you can solve the mystery the story is online. Have and apple handy! Today, Mrs. Bridle's class read a book called, "The Seasons of Arnold's Apple Tree." We talked about all the different changes that happen to a tree throughout the year. We wondered why apples are red in the fall and not any other season. We talked about the letter A and the sound that an A makes. The children that brought their apples to school today sketched them in their journals. We learned that when you sketch something, you need to look carefully at it and look for the details. After they sketched their apple, they coloured it. If your child didn't bring in an apple today, please send one in tomorrow. Today in Mrs. Smith class we learned about the letter Aa. We learned how to print Aa and the sound it makes. During centers we tried crab apples and did and apple craft. We also mowed the lawn in our community center for the first time. It was really fun! Thanks to all the parents and children who went on a scavenger hunt this weekend! It was very exciting to get all of your treasures back. We will be sorting them and using them to do an art project in the upcoming days and weeks.
