Today was another busy day in Kindergarten.
This morning all of the teachers had some meeting time before returning to the class so that we can have time together to plan some exciting activities for Kindergarten. The classes today read a book called "Sort it Out". It is about a little mouse that has a collection of things and puts them into groups. Our job was to sort out the paper pieces that were on our table into groups. We could make up our own rule but then we needed to tell an adult about how we did it. Mrs. Bridle's Scholastic orders are due tomorrow. We will be starting inline skating in gym next week and are asking for some help to get skates on at the beginning of each day. If you are able to stay for a little bit after dropping off your child for both the morning and afternoon classes and have your police clearance your help would be greatly appreciated. Please let your child's teacher know. Photo orders were due today. If you have not sent in your forms and would like to please send them tomorrow. You will be able to continue to order online for sometime yet. Please read this important note from our digital citizen ship team Dear Parents and Guardians, All students at Evergreen school have access to a variety of digital tools in their daily learning. From desktop and laptop computers to iPads and iPods, our students use technology to enhance and support their learning in many ways. A wireless student network for Internet access using student owned personal electronic devices (such as iPods, iPads, tablets, or laptop computers) is provided at Evergreen School. The use of personal devices by students, with the guidance of parents and teachers will assist in addressing individual student preferences and needs for learning. Access to the LAWN (Learner Accessible Wireless Network) is available to students on a voluntary basis. The LAWN emphasizes student learning and places responsibility on students for appropriate use and behavior. All parents/guardians are encouraged to discuss the learning opportunities and the risks with their son or daughter. A copy of a parent student contract will be available through message easy and on our school website. Students who wish to bring digital devices to school to use in their learning will be required to sign the contract with their parents' permission and return it to school beforehand. Be assured that the content filtering that is normally used to filter inappropriate material and content on the school’s internal network will also be applied to the open access network. As with any personal belonging that a student brings to school, the school cannot be responsible for electronic devices that are lost, stolen or damaged. This is a significant opportunity for students to personalize their learning by choosing with their parent’s appropriate technology for their learning needs.
