TOMORROW IS PM Kindergarten.
Today in Kindergarten we talked about the letter Ff. We thought of a big list of things that started with F. Frog, fish, fence, fist, four, five, forty, fifty, flag, fingers, feet, fireman, fire drill, fairy, feathers, fur, fruit, fossil and many others. Tuesday will be letter G (more information below) Reminders: No SCHOOL Friday November 25th As you know we have asked children to bring in their favorite storybooks to be read to the class. It is fantastic to see the variety of books being brought in and that there are so many different interests. Unfortunately, some of the books that have come in are difficult for us to use for our project. The children listen to the book and then decided upon their favorite part. Their job then is to draw a picture of their favorite part and then write a sentence. We would appreciate if you would guide your child towards a book that could be read to the class in about 10 minutes and one that has a story or plot from which they could find their favorite part. Thank you for your help. LETTER DAYS It will be done each Tuesday and Thursday we will be exploring a new letter of the alphabet. For letter A some of the items that we had were: Apple air plane ace asparagus Aloe A book with the title that starts with A the movie Atlantis We are inviting students to bring ONE item for each letter day from home to add to our Alphabet Museum. We will be doing a variety of learning activities with the items such as sorting, counting, and writing to help us investigate the alphabet. Have your child take charge of the activity by letting them find the item on their own, putting it in their communication bag and bringing it to school. Here are the upcoming letter days: November: 17th F 22 G 24 H December: 1st I 6th J 8th K 13th L 15th M We have also been watching an alphabet video for each letter. The website we use is “Have fun Teaching” and then look for letter videos. Winter Concert: The winter concert is on November 30th. There will be two performances, one in the day and then an evening performance. The times will depend on whether your child is morning or afternoon Kindergarten. AM shows 10:00 and 5:30 (time change) PM shows 2:00 and 7:00 The grade 1 and 2 classes will be split between these times. We will be able to move children for the evening show so that you will only need to attend one performance. If you find that your children are at two different times please let your child's teacher know. For more information please check the school newsletter on the website. Enjoy your night The Kinder Team
