The morning classes each read different stories that were about feelings. Each group drew a picture and some even did some writing in their journal about it. The afternoon group had gym-sic today but as usual we all did different activities before heading there. Mrs. Smith’s class did some painting. Mrs. Taylor read a story and talked about what makes their hearts happy. Mrs. Decottignies class talked about fall words and made a poster of them for the classroom. Halloween: Students are welcome to dress up for Halloween on October 31. Please have your child leave masks and accessories at home. The day will be low key and so we keep routines and learning as normal and engaging as possible. The Halloween howl will be on Friday Oct. 28 from 2-4 pm. Parent Council will be organizing activities in the hallways. There is more information in the school newsletter ( http://schools.cbe.ab.ca/b401/calendar.htm ) Winter Concert: The winter concert is on November 30th. There will be two performances, one in the day and then an evening performance. The times will depend on whether your child is morning or afternoon Kindergarten. AM shows 10:00 and 6:00 PM shows 2:00 and 7:00 The grade 1 and 2 classes will be split between these times. We will be able to move children for the evening show so that you will only need to attend one performance. If you find that your children are at two different times please let your child's teacher know. For more information please so the school newsletter on the website. At the end of the day we give the children ten minutes to get themselves ready to go outside. If they have difficulty with zippers or snaps they can ask a buddy to help them. The buddies are usually those that are ready first. It is very helpful for your child if they can practice getting on their winter gear at home so that they are independently able to dress themselves Enjoy your evening Team K
